The Oracle Speaks

Thunder in heaven — great power surges upward. Four yang lines advance. The great possess power, but power must align with what is right. The ram butts against the hedge and gets entangled. Sheer force without wisdom traps itself. Great power with great restraint — the root user who respects sudo.

The Six Lines — Changing Line Oracles

When a line is “changing” (old yin or old yang), its oracle activates. These texts reveal the specific mutation occurring at that position in the hexagram.

Line 1 (Yang — solid) — Bottom

Power in the toes. Continuing brings misfortune. The impulse to act from the lowest position — premature and destructive.

Line 2 (Yang — solid)

Perseverance brings good fortune. Steady power application yields results.

Line 3 (Yang — solid)

The inferior man works through power. The superior man does not act thus. Continuing is dangerous. A he-goat butts against a hedge. Brute force entangles.

A goat butts against a hedge. It cannot go backward, it cannot go forward. Nothing serves to further. Noting the difficulty brings good fortune. The deadlock resolves through acknowledgment, not force.
